Dave Aftandilian Well crafted feelings of mystery and menace drape this vampiric DS release in crowding shadows and rotting velvet tapestries. I especially appreciate the artist’s skillful use of not just synths but also guitars and well-chosen samples to expand their thick black and red palette. As enchanting melodies recur, yet sounding slightly different each time, I also get a sense of constant movement deeper into the darkness, both external and internal.
